In NSW, electricians are legally required to issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) for applicable electrical installation work. The certificate confirms the work has been tested and complies with the relevant legislation and Australian Standards. CCEWs must be lodged within the required timeframe after testing is completed. Since 1 July 2026, CCEWs are submitted through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal.
