Project Overview
Active Conductors was honored to deliver a highly detailed kitchen upgrade for one of Australia’s most iconic restaurants—Tetsuya’s, led by world-renowned chef Tetsuya Wakuda. This fast-paced project involved the complete electrical refurbishment of the main kitchen and pastry kitchen, delivered in close collaboration with the chef himself. Our team played a key role in both the design and implementation phases, ensuring zero disruption to restaurant operations throughout the process.

Scope of Works
Full electrical upgrade of the main and pastry kitchens
Installation of an additional 3 distribution boards to acomodate the new all electric induction cooking appliance’s
Design collaboration with Chef Tetsuya Wakuda to meet exacting functional and performance requirements
Creation and powering of temporary kitchen facilities to maintain restaurant service
Extensive power load analysis to prevent overloads during migration of temporary circuitry for the temporary kitchen set up and the increase to load with induction cooktops
Safe and strategic power supply relocation to support temporary operations so that the restaurant operated with zero downtime due to the works
Fast-tracked delivery completed within a 6-week turnaround
Temporary Kitchen Execution
To keep Tetsuya’s fully operational during the refurbishment, Active Conductors designed and powered temporary kitchen zones. This required in-depth electrical load assessments and strategic rerouting of existing circuits to ensure sufficient and balanced power for commercial-grade equipment—without overloading the system.

Working directly with Chef Tetsuya, we tailored the kitchen's electrical layout to support the unique workflows and requirements of a Michelin-standard culinary environment. From specialised appliance loads to precision task lighting, every detail was considered to match the expectations of a globally acclaimed kitchen.
