Active Conductors was engaged to deliver a complex, multi-staged electrical infrastructure upgrade for a new medical imaging suite on Level 5 of St Vincent’s Private Hospital. Delivered progressively over a period of time, this project supported the installation of three high-end CT machines, requiring extensive power investigations, demolition, and phased delivery to meet clinical, compliance, and operational needs in a highly constrained power environment.

Scope of Works

• Demolition of existing tenancy and complete removal of legacy services

• Full upgrade of power, lighting, and communications infrastructure

• Power supply and infrastructure for 3 advanced CT scanner rooms

• Fit-out of 3 CT machine rooms, each with its own observation room

• Services to doctors’ suites, waiting rooms, and support areas

• Extensive electrical capacity investigations within the hospital network

• Re-routing and rebalancing of internal power supplies to meet CT machine load demands

• Multi-staged delivery carried out in phases over a period of time to align with project and hospital milestones

• Entire project delivered based on a reverse brief, developed from initial power assessments

Reverse Brief & Strategic Power Reallocation

Due to limited available capacity within the hospital’s main electrical infrastructure, Active Conductors conducted a series of in-depth investigations to identify viable power supply points. Based on our findings, we developed a reverse brief, using data-driven insights to guide the redistribution of power circuits and infrastructure across multiple departments—without affecting critical hospital operations.

Live Environment Execution Over Time

Delivered in carefully managed stages, the project was coordinated around hospital activity, compliance reviews, and ongoing building operations. The phased approach allowed for efficient progress over a period of time, ensuring safety, system integrity, and the uninterrupted operation of the broader hospital environment.

Project Outcome

The completed Level 5 medical imaging suite now functions as a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility, equipped with fully supported CT machinery, intelligent infrastructure, and resilient power systems.
